We are all familiar to some extent with the fall of our nature, as it is depicted in Genesis through the deeply existential symbolic representation of the fruit of knowledge of good and evil. Symbols are needed to express the deep bond between the unit (man) and infinite (GOD). Adam’s deepest and most essential purpose is to achieve a truly perfect and complete union with the dual nature of Christ representing the perfect expression of both divinity and humanity in harmonious co-existence.
What we are not completely aware of however is that every man, woman, and child that has ever walked on earth is, in fact, the same person: Adam, the one and only person. It takes a level of internal maturity to accept the fact that the fall of man is not an event that occurred at some obscure historical moment in linear time, but a timeless drama taking place inside all of us from the moment we are born to the day we transcend the material plane.
We need to briefly examine the very form and epicenter of our existential fall. It has nothing to do with carnal intercourse as certain naive and puritan theological views would attempt to conveniently and hastily argue. It has to do with the very concept of antithesis and duality of our limited human perception. The very basis of our flawed analytical logic.
The faulty function of our reasoning capabilities is easily shown if we consider this phrase: “the sentence you are now reading is false”. The mental vicious circle created when we try to access the validity of such a statement proves that the way we construct our ideas, the very foundation on which we base our whole system of thought, and how our mind is trained to process reality is utterly and inadvertently false.
Mathematics is based on certain axioms that can’t according to science be proved and analyzed further to solidify their validity. On assumptions that seem to us logical and true without actual proof. Once these axioms are accepted, theorems may be further explored and proved. However, we need to consider a rather terrifying yet valid possibility. The possibility that all our collective so-called knowledge, on which any single one of our ideas was based, as it has been till now expressed verbally or symbolically, mathematical geometric or otherwise, all our treasury filled with generally accepted and established facts is totally inaccurate and utterly misleading.
After we accept this truth we need to spot the basic errors and flaws not only of the scientific method used by scholars and scientists of all time to prove and disprove mathematical, philosophic, and theological theories but of the whole foundation of the colossal logical structure humanity have assumed to be valid.
As an example: we often ask the question “Can the cosmos be created out of thin air, from nothing?”. This seems far-fetched and difficult to swallow. Yet, since from elementary we learn that the first number is zero followed by all other numbers from the single unit to the infinite, we find it impossible to conceive that this basic knowledge we’ve accepted as obvious is completely and utterly irrational.
Nothing can come from nothing so nothing did come from nothing. What would be the consequence if, instead of beginning to count from zero, we began to count from the infinite. What if before the big bang the base condition is not nothingness but an infinite existence so full of essence that it would be perfectly easy to create “nothingness” “zero” and then fill this zero with everything we can ever conceive as existence, consciousness, and intelligence.
If we want to be accurate we may say our logic is zero-centric, when in fact there is a higher form of conceiving, thinking, and processing phenomenological information in an infinite-centric way. Even though this is a fascinating subject, it deserves further analysis and we don’t want to stray far beyond the scope of this short article. In essence, there are two things we need to clarify to accurately guide the reader to the central core of the general subject of this study.
The first is the whole concept of time. Time is not a linear, scalar quantity it is not even circular. True-time is rather a single point, an eternal moment if you like, containing the wholeness and entirety of our existence. Adam and Christ exist simultaneously in this unique moment. As the two sides of ultimate perfection purity and completeness, alpha and omega, image and likeness to God. Christ as the ultimate redeemer, savior, and healer of our spiritual sickness brought His Word, filled with the divine Spirit of our Creator and heavenly Father, to reveal the Truth and to offer us the one path to eternal life, the key to wisdom.
Wisdom and knowledge are not two synonyms expressing the same concept but opposites. One cannot partake in the revealed through our inner vision enoratic Wisdom and to the worldly so-called knowledge, based on antithesis and inner struggle of opposing forces. The first condition is harmony, the second is disarray. So, to recapitulate and encompass this information to our general understanding, we will highlight these points: the existential fall of man has to do with the descending of an all containing eternal moment to a linear concept of eternity and an embrace of the two seemingly opposing, yet equally harmful, existential directions that of good and that of evil.
When I say that the concept of good is as harmful as that of evil, obviously the first reaction will be that of doubt and suspicion, yet give me the time to elaborate. Good has to do with compulsion a great “I must”, I must love my neighbor, I must extend this love and acceptance to my enemy or foe, or an “I must not”, I must not kill, I must not be unfaithful to my spouse, etc. However human beings cannot direct their actions according to anything compulsive as the very narration of Genesis reveals. Many are attracted by the forbidden, they are not discouraged from the unlawfulness or wicked nature of an act they are rather charmed, attracted, and magnetized by the very thing they are told not to do and see it as an exertion of freedom to succumb to any wicked thought and impulse precisely because it is forbidden.
So what we need is not compulsion but a truly deep desire to love and express love to our fellow human beings and neighbors and show kindness in a way that promotes our own happiness and fulfillment. We only need to realize as human beings that God is not an oppressing tyrant but a loving Father who infinitely desires our happiness contentment and loves us immensely. That he is not the one banning us from the condition of innocence and inner light, our “Eden” but instead that we chose to distance ourselves from Him and that we are free to return willingly to His infinite love and protection by simply deciding to accept and embrace true happiness and fulfillment once more.
Now there is one more thing we need to clarify. Who exactly is “We”? We are all the same person Adam. The same Adam that abides in you abides also in me in our children in our siblings and neighbors. Each life that has ever existed on this earth was, is, and will be another chance for the universal man Adam to make the right choice.
So everyone is special. Every one of us is an expression of a unique essence of special beautiful magic that can only exist in this unique instance. We are ONE and we are also a UNIQUE essence indispensable to the very collective spirit of humanity “Adam”. In a sense, we are the living cells of Adam and we have one common mission, to mature spiritually to become living breathing cells of The Savior, The Anointed One, The Son of God, Christ.
Adam represents the natural innocence and perfection of a pure newborn Child that is not consciously aware of how precious this freely given by the Father and Creator innocent perfection is. Christ represents the conscious elevation of Man back to the blessed and complete state of unity with God. Excuse me for the analogy but if Adam is the pro-nymph he assumes his final form in the person of Christ the complete Psyche. Symbolically speaking the fully formed butterfly.
So what is truly any form of a shadow, of absence in the bright completeness of Godly existence, what is sin and wickedness if not a mere shadow, an open parenthesis meant to close forever? So what have WE as Adam to do? What constitutes salvation?
Most of us, when we hear that we need salvation we probably imagine that we need to be saved by the torment of eternal fire, but, since we have little idea what is heaven like, there is little positive incentive to seek the deliverance of our inner Adam.
One thing we can say is that when in heaven, one feels like a little drop of existence surrounded by a vast ocean of unconditional Love. How do we know? Well, we know because the Messiah told us that God is Love and we are also aware that God is infinite, omnipresent, and unlimited. We also know that God is light and light reveals colors. However, since a spiritual entity is not restricted by the limitations of our five senses, especially vision, we can deduct that the kind of light we experience in the afterlife reveals an infinite plethora of brilliant immensely vibrant colors.
When we mention color it would be wrong of us to remain on the superficial side of things. Colors in the spiritual sense are not just radiation or a frequency in a vast color spectrum translated by the limited material brain of flesh into a sensation it can perceive and process. In a spiritual world, like everything else, color is much more than what it is in this limited world of meaningless experiences and phenomena. It is rather the expression of a spiritual condition, a living entity filled with vast and great magic and a form of cosmic ecstasy, one can freely enjoy in the love of our Godly Father and Creator.
Henceforth it can only be conceived if we imagine what it would be like if we could travel to a whole other world. What else do we know? That those of us that thirst for truth will feel quenched since Christ does not just speak the truth. He IS the truth so we will be fully aware of the deep essence of existence, freed from the anxiety and agony of the unanswered eternal questions and, since we will partake to the source of eternal life, we will be free of death and the pain of separation from a dearly loved one or of life itself.
Well, all these things sound heavenly no pun intended, but what can any one of us do, to partake in the joy of being one with the godly and divine bliss. No need to say that the right comprehension of the Word given to us by the Savior must be the foundation on which our existential transformation must be based. For many centuries an intentional effort by opposing forces directed against the true comprehension of the holy scripture has been made and much of our predominant theology was built through the adoption of misconceptions and faulty doctrine in no way related to the teaching of Christ.
Salvation by grace alone with no works is an especially dangerous idea that endangers and hinders many people from their elevation to a higher level of existential quality and the heavenly realm. When we want to lose weight we all know full well what would make that happen. The basic elements are two. We know we need to pursue our final goal through both a passive and an active approach. We need to abstain from certain things such as fattening food and introduce certain elements such as the exercise of some form.
Yet when it comes to our spiritual ascension to a higher level or seeking our salvation we act as if we don’t know the first thing about how we should go about achieving it. What is needed is simply a passive and energetic strategy to achieve our goal passively through abstaining from sin, fasting, and wicked thoughts and actively through good works of charity, and of expressing through conscious active goodness our love to our neighbor and our fellow human beings.
For these two approaches to work, however, there is a deeper prerequisite that our Lord took the body of a man and experienced our human pains and woes for it to be revealed. This prerequisite is also the main reason for which we try to abstain from sin and strive actively to do good works. This is a prerequisite to better ourselves on a level of intention and improve our quality as human beings. To cultivate our inner goodness and help it to develop and grow as a holy seed.
What good is it to act nicely on the surface when deep inside we have nothing but harshness? The point, even if it seems to be an oxymoron, is to pursue salvation, not to avoid hellish torments and gain the glorious bliss of heaven, but to do what we can for another human being out of real compassion, love, and sympathy for his earthly pains and ailments. The point is not to act nicely but to become truly good out of desire and interest for the happiness of another person, even if this person happens to be completely different from us on a superficial level in race, creed, and life choices.
At our core, we are all the same “Adam” the true and eternal human being and we need to become expressions of God the Son, Christ. We have been given a second chance to make the right choice to deny listening to the venomous words of the serpent and trust the Word of our immense and eternal caring Father. We can ask Him to take in His kind hands our life, everything we own, and everything we are, to become the means of creation and establishment of His Kingdom and Reign in this world.
If as humanity we manage to supervene our pride and self-glorification and humbly ask our Lord to take in His hands our life and guide us to the light with faith and conviction, we will be delivered and gain the immense Joy of His heavenly reign and we will also help save the future human beings from extinction and this hospitable planet from becoming an uninhabitable barren wasteland by our immaturity and greed.
God bless you and stay safe.
